On 22 August 2026, Berlin will host the Lange Nacht des Gelato for the very first time — a citywide experience where Berlin's best gelaterias open their doors at the same time, and thousands of visitors travel across the city to discover the diversity of real, handmade gelato culture.
This event is initiated by Duo Sicilian Ice Cream — one of Berlin's best-known gelato brands — with a clear goal: to build Berlin's biggest gelato event, and soon all of Germany's.
Duo Sicilian Ice Cream is Berlin's leading Sicilian gelateria, founded by Antonio Tomasello, continuing a family tradition from Bronte, Sicily that goes back to 1972. With 9 locations across Berlin today, Duo is the German capital's largest Sicilian gelato network.
Our gelato is made fresh every day: pistachios imported directly from Bronte, hazelnut cream from Piedmont, milk and cream from the Brandenburg region — no artificial flavours, no compromise on quality.
To make Berlin's gelato culture visible, celebrate it and strengthen it through a unique, citywide experience that puts quality in the spotlight.
To build Germany's biggest gelato event — starting in Berlin, with the goal of expanding to more cities and becoming a national movement.
The format is as simple as it is unique: every participating gelateria stays at its own location. Visitors travel across the city and visit several gelaterias in a single night.
Every gelateria opens from 18:00 and stays open until midnight.
Visitors get an interactive city map with all participating gelaterias.
Every gelateria presents its best offer — special creations are welcome.
Social media, press and influencers follow the night in real time.
An official press report on the whole event is published afterwards.
